The efficiency figure on this page is EV Database's real-world combined number, which sits between the official WLTP figure and a cold motorway run; it's the honest one to budget with.
On sale 2025–present. Home charging at 7 kW (11 kW AC on-board charger on this version) adds about 20 miles of range per hour. Public rapid charging peaks at 150 kW on the Comfort RWD (82.5 kWh); at typical UK rapid-charger prices of 75–85p/kWh that works out at 27.8p per mile — roughly the same as petrol — so the whole saving with this car comes from charging at home on a tariff with a cheap window.
Charging 8,000 miles a year at home, the BYD Sealion 7 needs about 8 kWh a night on average — 1h of charging at 7 kW — so it fits comfortably inside a five- or six-hour window.
